Victoria Garofalo has been dancing since the young age of two and has not stopped since. She has always loved the stage and has studied various genres in class and at conventions such as; ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, character, lyrical, hip-hop, modern, ethnic, and musical theatre. Victoria has successfully completed her Level 6 Cecchetti ballet exam as well as her Intermediate Jazz exam with the ADAPT syllabus.

Throughout Victoria’s time dancing she has won numerous awards and scholarships at workshops and competitions. Victoria has won awards such as; Jr. Ultimate Challenge Champion, 2006 Junior All Around Bowl at the local Lakehead Music Festival, various first places and overall high scores for solos, duets, trios, and groups, and various judges choice awards for her performances. She was chosen to be Dance Americas Senior National Dance Weeks Most Promising Performer 2014 where she was featured on National Dance Weeks website. Victoria recently travelled to Chicago and Florida for the Dance America National Finals where she was chosen in both instances to compete in the Dancer of The Year competition, she won multiple National Champion titles, and was chosen to perform in Disney World. She has performed with Ballet Jorgen in The Nutcracker and with Moscow Ballet in Sleeping Beauty when they performed locally.

Victoria not only enjoys dancing, but she also loves to act and sing. She has been involved in many local plays and musicals. Some of these include Beauty and the Beast, Grease, A Bite of Broadway, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Tis the Seasons, Charlie Brown. In 2012, Victoria was chosen to travel to New York where she had the privilege of working with many actors, singers, and dancers from Broadway, commercials, and movies. Through this experience, she also learned from some of New York’s best talent agents about auditioning and the audition process.

At the age of eleven, Victoria began to assist with dance classes and for the past 4 years has been teaching classes independently. She loves teaching because she enjoys passing on her knowledge and her love of dance to others! Victoria’s dances have won many first places and high scores in local, regional, and national level competitions. In 2014, Victoria received the Young Choreographer Award at the Dance America competition, this qualified her choreography to be performed at Nationals under the Young Choreographer category.

Victoria has achieved great things with Legacy and the students include top overall marks, choreography awards and has made a mark on the competition team with her drive and passion. Victoria is in the Applied Bio-Molecular Science at Lakehead University. She hopes that she can set a good example for all of her students and is very excited to start working with them!
